深入解读

Grin 对于不少小伙伴来说，应该不算陌生，一年多前小站就在 小词详解 | grim 提到 grin 与 grim 这两个词十分形似但意思截然相反，其中 grin 作动词指“露齿而笑、咧着嘴笑”。

而半年多前，小站又在 小词详解 | smother 中提到一个有趣的表达叫“刚想张嘴笑又收了回去”，用 to smother a grin 表示，其中 grin 作名词表示“露齿的笑、咧嘴的笑”。

不过露齿的笑不一定都是开心的笑，也有可能是面对生活中的困境时做出的无奈苦笑，这就可以用习语 grin and bear it 来表示“苦笑着忍受、默默承受”，多指在知道没有什么能让事情变得更好时毫无怨言地接受困难、痛苦、失望等不愉快的处境，比如：

• 急剧上升的成本压缩了利润空间。对此我们暂时无能为力，只好默默地忍受。
